Rules and Regulations

The Rules and Regulations presented hereafter are in accordance with the current rules and regulations of the International Federation of Muaythai Amateur (IFMA) and European Muaythai Federation (EMF).

Qualifications of the Contestants
• A Contestant in the Senior Division must be at least 17 years old, but not more than 35 years old.
• A Contestant must not be ranked in the Top 10 in any professional stadium in the Europe and must not be a Champion in any professional sanctioning body.
• A Contestant in the Junior Division must be at least 15 years old, but not more than 17 years old, minimum weight 42kg (*The Junior Division spans a total of 3 years of a boxer's life; from his/her 15th birthday until his/her 17th birthday).a

Entry fee: 10 Euro/per athlete

Divisions of the Competition
Note: If there are less than 3 contestants in any division, the competition will not be held for that weight
A division B division individual competition will be made separately.
A division- senior male and senior female, junior male and female- 7th European Championships 2012.
B division - senior male and senior female, junior male and female- 12th European Cup 2012.

Participants
• Teams of all EMF members are invited to participate at IFMA-EMF 7th European Championships & 12th European Cup 2012.
• Each National Federation can bring for 7th European Championships A division each category one athlete one team. (male, female, junior).
• For 12th European Cup; Each country is allowed to send more then one contestant for each weight category of each division (senior male, female,)

Team Delegates
Each team should consist of:
1 Team Manager, Coach/es, Referee/s, Contestants


Medical Check-up and Weigh-in
All contestants must have a Medical Check-up and Official Weigh-in on the opening day of the Championships outlined in the technical handbook. Each contestant must then have a Medical Check-up and Weigh-in in the morning of their competition for each bout. Boxers Record Book (Membership Books) must be presented at every Medical Check-up.

Changing Weight Divisions
On the morning of the official weigh-in, if a contestant finds his/her weight above the previous declared weight, he/she is permitted to move up to a higher weight division.

Drawing of Names
The Draw will be carried out after the Medical Check-up and Weigh-in. During this, the team manager or coach or a selected representative from each country must be present.

Appearance of Contestant
A contestant must wear shorts and a sleeveless shirt in red or blue, according to his corner. The contestant must wear a Mongkom (sacred headband) during the Wai Kru before the fight. Minimal range of Wai Kru it one getting around of ring ,fall on knees with bow in any pleaces and directions. An amulet may be worn around the upper arm or wrist but must be neatly covered. The contestant must wear the standard groin-guard, shins guard, gum-shield, head-guard, bodyguard and ankle support as provided by the Organizing Committee, except gum-shields. No others may be substituted. Toenails must be short.
Every athlete is required to wear the official shorts and t-shirt of the games, which will be supplied for sale by IFMA. No underwear can not be visible from under shorts and sleeveless shirts.

Hand Wraps
Contestants must use the wraps provided by the Organizing Committee.

Timing of Rounds
The tournament will be run using 4 rounds of 2 minutes each with a 1-minute rest in between. Juniors using 3 rounds of 2 minutes each with a 1-minute rest in between. The same rules will apply for the Finals.

Competition Conduct
All contestants must behave properly – as a good sportsman and follow the rules and regulations as laid out. Contestants will be penalized for any violations.

Ringside Doctor
There shall always be a doctor ringside. One doctor will be appointed as Chairman.

Appealing Decisions
All appeals should be in accordance with the rules of the International Federation of Muaythai Amateur (IFMA) for international tournaments and competitions.

Awards and Prizes
In each division, the winner of the Final bout will be the competition and awarded with the Gold medal. The other finalist will receive the Silver medal and 2 Bronze medals will be awarded to the 2 semi-finalists. The team with the highest points total will receive the EMF 7th European Championships & 12th European Cup 2012 Trophys 2012.

Venue and Date
The IFMA-EMF 7th European Championships & 12th European Cup 2012 will be held at the Turkey Antalya, from the 16th to 22nd of April 2012. The Opening Ceremony will be held on the 17th of April 2012.

Visa Requirement:
Every participant who need visa to Turkey should contact with Turkish Muaythai Federation.

Team Manager:
Kindly bring a CD of your National Anthem and a National Flag to use in the closing ceremony.

Accommodation and Lodging:

For All Participants:
Double Accommodation: 40 Euro per day/per person (80 Euro/room/night)
Single Accommodation: 50 Euro per day/per person
Triple Accommodation: 35 Euro per day/per person (105 Euro/room/night)

R&J Accommodation
Accommodation for one R&J per country is provided by TMF.

Transport from airport to hotel 10 euro one way, roundtrips 20 euro.
Transport from hotel to sport arena (Gym)- provided by Turkish Muaythai Federation.

The confirmed flight details
Should be sent to us as 10 days before event (07 April 2012) to ensure airport transport.
Turkish Muaythai Federation; provide 2 boxing rings, sports hall, transfer to sports hall, doctor, ambulance.
All requirements are signed separately with EMF.
Medical service, two ambulances and two doctors and four nurses scales will be available continuously. All participants must have medical insurance.
